About
missio Dei is a faith community based in the city of Melbourne, Australia, with many of the tribe located in the north eastern suburbs. We’re a group of people trying to perceive God’s redemptive work in this world, and then trying to figure out together how we might rearrange our aspirations and priorities to live His transforming dream with our lives.
We try to adhere to the teachings of Jesus, when he talks about things like passionate mercy, relentless acceptance of those who are different to us, extravagant generosity, and lending our voice to those who don’t have one. We do this with varying degrees of success and failure.
Our very informal gatherings consist of conversation, reflection, prayer, some study, the sounds of children (and adults) crying, laughing, talking and playing, oh, and food!
The main reason that we keep this blog is for ourselves, to help us organise, communicate with each other and to keep some sort of record of communal decisions made, research done, and things we’d like to do and be. Consider it a participative newsletter. Feel free to eavesdrop on our communities thoughts and actions!
If you think you’d like to fall in with this motley crew, leave a comment in one of our posts to that effect, and one of us will get back to you as soon as we can. (We don’t leave our own email addressed on this site because of spam.)
